๐ฆAustralia Salary Calculator
Calculate your Australian take-home pay with income tax, Medicare levy, HELP/HECS, and superannuation. Updated for 2025-26 tax year
Your Salary Information
Note about Superannuation:
Your employer contributes 12% of your salary to your super fund. This is displayed below but doesn't affect your take-home pay as it's an employer contribution.
Understanding Australian Taxes
๐ฆ Income Tax Brackets 2025-26
Residents: $0-$18,200 (0%), $18,201-$45,000 (16%), $45,001-$135,000 (30%), $135,001-$190,000 (37%), $190,001+ (45%). Non-residents pay tax from the first dollar at 30-45%.
๐ฅ Medicare Levy
Australian residents pay a 2% Medicare levy on taxable income. Low-income earners may be exempt or pay a reduced levy. Non-residents don't pay the Medicare levy.
๐ HELP/HECS Repayment
If you have a Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) or HECS debt, you make compulsory repayments once your income exceeds $54,435 (2025-26). Rates range from 1% to 10% based on income.
๐ฐ Low Income Tax Offset (LITO)
LITO provides up to $700 tax reduction for residents earning under $66,667. It phases out gradually: full $700 up to $37,500, then reduces to $0 at $66,667.
๐ฆ Superannuation
Employers must contribute 12% of your ordinary time earnings to your super fund. This is on top of your salary and doesn't reduce your take-home pay. It's your retirement savings.
