We use monthly average prices from reliable exchanges. Actual prices fluctuate significantly within each month, so results are estimates. For earliest data (BTC 2010-2013), prices are less accurate due to limited exchange data.

Why does the calculation show a different return than my actual investment?

The calculator uses monthly average prices, not the exact price when you bought. Your actual purchase price depends on exchange, timing, and fees. Taxes are also not included.
